Here at Eagle Vision, we are here for you in the case of an emergency. If you experience trauma to your eye area, or if your child or family member has an accident involving their eyes, it can be very frightening.
The sooner that you get treatment for your eyes, the quicker you can find relief and put your mind at ease. Early detection and treatment of problems can also help prevent serious damage to your eyes or vision.
Our team is here to provide advice and immediate care for your eyes. When eye emergencies happen, call us right away at 801-789-3937. After hours, you should get to the nearest hospital for care or, if necessary, call 911.
Symptoms of an Eye Emergency
Even if you aren’t sure your issue is an emergency, contact us anyway! If you feel that you should be seen for any reason, please give us a call.
You should come in immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- Pain in the eye area
- Differently sized pupils
- Bulging eyes
- Double vision
- Very red eyes
- Severe itchiness
- Bruising or bleeding
- Sudden headache
- Discharge from the eye
- Eyes moving separately
- Sudden loss of part or all of your vision
Our team is well-equipped to assist with a variety of urgent eye care needs. If a more specialized treatment is needed, we can efficiently refer you to the appropriate specialist.
What Constitutes an Eye Emergency?
Common eye emergencies we can treat include:
- Cuts and scratches to the eye
- Sand or small particles in the eye
- Trauma to the eye area
- Chemical burns or splashes
- Large foreign objects in the eye

We have visited Eagle Vision three separate times now and have had a spectacular experience each time.
In the two instances that were emergencies, the staff got us into the doctor immediately. When we arrived at the office, we were treated so considerately and taken care of in a timely manner. The Dr is very knowledgeable and personable with all ages. What I appreciate most is that he takes his time with each patient; we have never felt rushed or that we only had so much time with him.
In one instance, my daughter had the end of a spiral notebook caught in her eye. We were able to see Dr. Barney immediately. He and the office staff took such good care of our little girl. They also saved us a great deal of money compared to visiting the ER and we got SUCH better service and consultation.
I HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone. We won’t be going anywhere else for our vision needs. It’s a longer drive for us, but well worth the time.
